The Faculty of Engineering of the Slovak University of Applied Sciences in Nitra participated in the 3rd international meeting of the DIGIFABS project in Ireland

On June 16-17, 2025, Prof. Ing. Zuzana Palková, PhD. participated in the third transnational project meeting of the DIGIFABS project (Digital Change Agents for Food and Beverage SMEs, www.digifabs.eu), which was held at Maynooth University in Ireland.

The DIGIFABS project brings together partners from eight European countries and aims to strengthen cooperation between universities and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the food and drink sector through digital innovation, hands-on learning and student challenges. It is co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme.

Practical training through Bootcamps

One of the key tools of the project was DIGIFABS Bootcamps - intensive online training focused on:

• digital transformation in the food industry,
• sustainability and new trends,
• challenges and needs of small businesses,
• preparation for cooperation between universities and businesses.

The Bootcamps were attended by students and educators from participating countries. The lessons learned and feedback will be used in upcoming project activities, including the Summer School and the SME Challenge.

DIGIFABS Summer School will take place in Nitra

Thanks to the active participation of the Faculty of Technology of the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra, the DIGIFABS Summer School will take place online from August 25 to 29, 2025 and from September 3 to 10, 2025 directly at the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra. During the week-long program, we will welcome more than 100 students from Ireland, Spain, Germany, Poland, the Netherlands and Slovakia, as well as international lecturers.

Students from the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra can participate as participants in educational workshops, facilitators of challenges or members of teams solving real problems of small businesses in the field of digitalization.
