The Technical Faculty establishes cooperation with the most important manufacturer of railway wagons in Europe
30.07.2024On the grounds of TATRAVAGÓNKA a.s. Poprad, on Friday 15 March 2024, a working meeting was held between representatives of the Technical Faculty of SPU in Nitra and the management of the company, which was represented by Ing. Marián Moravčík, Ph.D., chief construction engineer, together with the management of the spin-off plant TATRAVAGÓNKA Tlmače spol. s.r.o., who was represented by Ing. Jána Profanta, Deputy Director General. The technical faculty was represented by the dean of the faculty, prof. Ing. Roman Gálik, PhD., vice dean for cooperation with practice and transfer of innovations doc. Ing. Jozef Žarnovský, PhD., vice dean for education and accreditation of study programs doc. Ing. Ján Kosiba, PhD., head of the Institute of Agricultural Technology, Transport and Bioenergetics, prof. Ing. Zdenko Tkáč, PhD. and representative of the Department of Traffic Education and Services Ing. Ľubomír Bureš.
The production site in Tlmačy starts again with the development of engineering production, this time with a focus on the production of freight railway wagons intended for the transport of containers. The company's production program is closely linked with the parent company TATRAVAGÓNKA a.s. Poprad, which provides customers all over the world with its top technical know-how and its own portfolio of more than 100 different modern design types of wagons. It also uses technologies that are used in the transportation of food and agricultural products. The meeting was carried out in the spirit of possible cooperation in the field of pedagogy, research and other joint penetrations for mutual cooperation, especially in the field of mechanical engineering and robotization used in the production of carriages.
The meeting also included the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation, where the possibilities of cooperation in various areas are declared. At the end of the meeting, the participants agreed on the points of cooperation, which were captured in the Memorandum on Cooperation. In the field of research, the points of cooperation are outlined in the possibility of creating joint projects. All participants left with a good feeling that mutual cooperation will develop in the near future.
