Participation of representatives of the Faculty of Engineering in a joint dialogue on the future of technical education in the era of Industry 4.0

On June 30, 2025, at the invitation of the director of the Private Secondary Vocational School of Polytechnic DSA, Ing. Ján Viderňan, the Dean of the Faculty of Technical Education, Prof. Gálik, Vice-Dean Assoc. Prof. Žarnovský, Prof. Korenko and Ing. Kazán, participated in a professional conference implemented within the framework of the national project Centers of Excellence in Vocational Education and Training, dedicated to the current challenges of technical education in the context of automation and digitalization of industry.
The aim of the event entitled Connecting Education and Industry: Preparing the Young Generation for the Challenges of Automated Industry 4.0 was to create a space for professional dialogue, exchange of experiences and building partnerships between educational institutions, employers, founders and the professional public. The need for systematic development of technical skills and digital competences from primary schools to university education, the preparedness of students who come to study at the Faculty of Technology, the differences between students who come to the Faculty of Technology from the dual system and from grammar schools, as well as further cooperation between the Technical School and the Faculty of Technology were discussed.
In addition to the Dean of the Faculty of Technology, Prof. Gálik, the panel discussion was also attended by Marián Vass, Director of FANUC Slovakia s.r.o., Janka Tromans, Director of Human Resources at Jaguar Land Rover Slovakia, and Andrej Hutta, Vice President of the Association of Employers' Unions and Associations in the Slovak Republic. The Dean of the Faculty of Technology and the Director of the Technical School agreed to hold a joint meeting at the beginning of the 2025/2026 academic year to discuss even closer mutual cooperation.
