Hanon Systems Slovakia welcomed students from the Faculty of Technology
17.12.2025Students of the 1st year of engineering studies of the Automotive Transport Systems study program at the Faculty of Technology of the Slovak University of Applied Sciences in Nitra had the opportunity to participate in an excursion to the company Hanon Systems Slovakia s.r.o. in Ilava this year again. It took place on November 27 and was planned as part of the teaching of the subjects Theory of Handling Technology and Use of Thermal Processes.
Hanon Systems Slovakia s.r.o. is a subsidiary of Hanon Systems and has become part of the Hankook Company. The production plant in Ilava focuses on the production of air conditioning units and their components (including battery cooling systems) for car manufacturers such as Kia, Hyundai, Daimler AG, VW, Volvo, Ford, BMW, McLaren, Porsche, Lamborghini and others. Its operations began in 2007 and production capacities were gradually expanded (so-called Ilava 2 and Ilava 3).
As is tradition, we were warmly welcomed in the entrance hall. During the introductory presentation, among other things, information was provided about the change in the company's organizational structure, production focus, customer requirements and employee qualification requirements. Then, Ing. Kavalčík's team divided us into two groups to tour the production facilities. We had the opportunity to look into the processes of production, handling, logistics, assembly, testing and quality control of products. We became familiar with the production technologies of individual components up to the assembly of HVAC units and Cooling modules. The operation of various types and types of conveyors, manipulators and robots was also of interest. In each part of the production process, a relevant production engineer was dedicated to us and willingly answered various questions. The goal of the excursion, namely the verification or. connection of the acquired theoretical knowledge (from handling technology, thermomechanics, cooling technology and others) in practice, was met thanks to the willingness and approach of the employees of Hanon Systems. As a bonus, we appreciate the offer of cooperation in solving the final theses.
We thank Hanon Systems Slovakia for the opportunity to organize the excursion and for the professional information provided. Special thanks to Ing. Adrián Kavalčík, product manager, and his team (Daniel J., Michal B., Marek R., Michal H.). Thanks also go to TF SPU in Nitra for arranging transportation.
