The sixth international conference Technology Transfer in Slovakia and Abroad 2016, held on 6 and 7 October 2016, was attended by the employees from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Automation and Informatics of FE SUA.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic in cooperation with the Industrial Property Office of the Slovak Republic. The main event topic was the operation of National Technology Transfer Portal as a unique environment for usage development of innovative potential of academic institutions and financing of technical solutions at early stages of development, with a special focus on a prototype support funding.
The aim of the event was to provide information on activities of transfer centres operating at universities and the Slovak Academy of Sciences and on the technology transfer system abroad. Since 2014, the event includes special seminar for employees of university scientific parks as well. The representatives of the Faculty of Engineering showed a representative model of device for the power supply of a single-phase appliance in case of a failure of one or more phases. The solution ensures the continuous power supply for single-phase appliances. The device design is based on the department research on phase failure in municipalities and city outskirts, where, in specific circumstances, the property was repeatedly damaged due to this issue. Prototype testing took two years and has shown positive results.
Utility model application at national level and international patent application valid in 148 countries have been submitted for the presented solution.
